The hiking map covers the rocky area between Bad Schandau and Schmilka. It also shows the Großer Winterberg, the Kirnitzsch valley and the Elbe valley between the border at Schmilka and the town center of Bad Schandau. Included are the districts Zaukengrund, Postelwitz, Ostrau and Krippen.
This part shown on the map is the most pristine area of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and shows the core zone of the National Park Saxon Switzerland. Here, the rules of conduct of the national park are to be observed in particular. The maps contain the permitted paths which have to be followed during the hikes. Due to the high resolution in the scales 1:10.000 and 1:5.000 the orientation in the wildly romantic and also strongly fissured mountain area is best guaranteed.
The Schrammstein chain and monkey stones are included as additional map sections at the scale 1:5 000. Tourist information can be found on the back of the hiking map Schrammsteingebiet.
