This illustrated book shows the seasonal changes in Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland with its table mountains, deep gorges and bizarre rock towers. Not only the well-known hiking areas around the Bastei and the Schrammsteine play a role, but also the vastness of the Zschand, from Hinterhermsdorf, to the Luchsstein and the lonely bohemian areas around the Wolfsberg, the Black Gate not far from the Kirnitzsch and the Paulinengrund. Pictures of numerous Umgebinde and half-timbered houses, decorative door keystones and old mills in the Kirnitzsch valley are included.
Hikes in spring lead to the Märzenbecher meadows in the Polenztal. In summer the cool gorges in Zschand or the Amselfall are the hiking destination. In autumn, the colorful forests in the Bastei area or the Ochelwände attract visitors. The illustrated book ends with the winter solstice at Kleine Liebe.
Thus, Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland offers something very special at any time of the year, whether it is snow-covered with deep snow in winter, fresh spring green, hot summer or adorned with splendid autumn colors.
